I think we can agree, some of the best things in life are free. And I am all about a celebratory state of happy feet. In the name of shoes I can play dress up with, I choose an era that speaks the same language. Since I’ve got my retro game on strong lately, this fashion shoot balances the perfect throwback aesthetic. There is loads of fun involved in the prep work for ‘such’ shoot, because I love to mix decades in my styling.

With the amass of 50’s, 70’s and 90’s influence, I’ve scouted and pulled some phenomenal accessories. Aside from the props and finishing touches to the look, another exciting element of this project is the location, obviously. Truly cliche to Los Angeles, and one of many epic film locations, this has got to be one of my favorites. As my individual forte as a stylist tends to nod to retro high fashion, there is nothing I cannot possibly not love about this entire concept.

Eat your heart out with this sick location, we’re shooting!

No stranger to styling for particular period concepts, I am living for this amazing 50’s retro vibe. It transports me to a place in time, and with fashion I breathe for that! So with that in mind, I can’t wait to get to work and capture the energy of this decade.

Stay tuned dolls! I’ll post a few favorite “behind the scenes” moments this week! Shoot is on Thursday. 🙂

Thanks for reading!

XO, Ja’Niya
